Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has entered into Inter-Municipal Agreements (IMAs) for inter-municipal cooperation with various municipalities for the purpose of Centralized Arraignment Part Court (CAP Court), executed by the Legislative Chair; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff requests the Legislature to authorize the acceptance and signature of the Agreement for CAP Court use by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP); and

 

WHEREAS, there is no funding required for this IMA; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement and any amendments thereto, with the New York City DEP to provide a formal relationship with the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,        

 

and moves its adoption.
