Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Probation is eligible to receive funds up to $35,000.00 provided through the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) grant and administered by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice (DCJS) to implement the Ignition Interlock Device Enforcement Program (IIDEP); and

WHEREAS, all individuals convicted of DWI, as a condition of sentence, are required to install and maintain an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) in any vehicles they own or operate; and

WHEREAS, the funding is intended to promote compliance with IID requirements through collaborative enforcement and public awareness and will reimburse overtime personnel costs required to implement Ignition Interlock Device Enforcement Program enforcement activities conducted during the period of May 27, 2024 through September 13, 2024; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the 2024 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
