ChairwomanoftheLawEnforcementandPublicSafetyCommittee,GinaHansut,and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County ExecutiveonbehalfoftheUlsterCountyDepartmentofEmergencyCommunications

/EmergencyManagement;and

WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency ManagementhasreceivednotificationfromtheNewYorkStateDivisionofHomeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2023 Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant (SICG); and

 

WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to make necessary improvements and provide for sustainment of Land Mobile Radio Systems (LMR), implementation and maintenance of components supporting interoperability, continuous training and exercise, sustainment and further development of the governance structure; and

 

WHEREAS, the County Executive and the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Servicesforparticipationinthe2023StatewideInteroperableCommunicationsGrant (SICG), for the period beginning January 1, 2023 and ending December 31, 2025, in the amount of $552,845.00; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorizedtoexecuteanAgreement,andanyamendmentsthereto,withtheNewYork State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for participation in the 2023StatewideInteroperableCommunicationsGrant(SICG),fortheperiodbeginning January1,2023andendingDecember31,2025,intheamountof$552,845.00,asfiled withtheClerkoftheUlsterCountyLegislatureorasmodifiedbytheCountyAttorney; and, be it further

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that if funding for this program is eliminated, the Commissioner ofFinanceshall,immediatelyupondiscovery,sendwrittennotificationtotheClerkof theLegislature,andtherelevantDepartmentHeadshallattendthenextregularmeeting of the Ways and Means Committee to assist the Committee in review and evaluation for determination of the program’s continuance,

 

andmovesitsadoption.
