Referred to: The Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee (Chairwoman Hansut and Legislators Hewitt, Maloney, McCollough and Walls), and the Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Collins, Hansut, Kovacs, Nolan, and Roberts)
Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:
WHEREAS, the County of Ulster has an established Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) managed through the Ulster County Department of Emergency Services and Department of Health; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this program will enhance emergency preparedness, healthcare response, and community resilience in times of crisis; and
WHEREAS, grant funding has been made available to support the efforts of the Ulster County MRC in fulfilling its mission to safeguard public health and safety; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds totaling the amount of $5,000.00 from the National Association of County & City Health Officials are available through the 2024 Medical Reserve Corps Operational Readiness Award (ORA); and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used towards professional services to manage the MRC; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the National Association of County & City Health Officials, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
and move its adoption.
