Legislator John Parete offers the following:

WHEREAS, Section 2609 of the Public Authorities Law of the State of New

York authorizes the County Legislature of the County of Ulster to recommend to the

Olympic Regional Development Authority two appointees to serve on the Olympic

Regional Development Authority’s Community Advisory Panel; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Shandaken Supervisor, Robert A. Stanley, has

requested he be recommended for such appointment; and

WHEREAS, Michael Bernholz of the Town of Olive has requested he be

recommended for such appointment; and

WHEREAS, these individuals have demonstrated familiarity with economic

development and Belleayre Mountain Ski Center; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby recommends the

appointments of Robert A. Stanley of the Town of Shandaken, and Michael

Bernholtz of the Town of Olive to each serve two year terms on the Community

Advisory Panel of the Olympic Regional Development Authority; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature respectfully requests these

two individuals (Mr. Stanley and Mr. Bernholz), upon their appointment, report

annually to the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Economic Development,

Tourism, Housing, Planning and Transit Committee regarding their and the

Community Advisory Panel’s actions; and be it further

RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution shall be transmitted to the

President and Chief Executive Officer of the Olympic Regional Development

Authority and to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Olympic Regional

Development Authority,

and moves its adoption.
