Majority Leader Gregorius and Minority Leader Ronk offer the following:

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is required by law to provide

firearms training and practice for its sworn officers; and

WHEREAS, the facility maintained by the Town of Ulster is appropriate for

such purpose; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff requests that the Chairman of the

Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement, and any

amendments thereto, with the Town of Ulster for the term January 1, 2015 through

December 31, 2015, with additional terms to renew automatically, providing for the

use by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office of the Ulster Police Firearms Range and

Training Facility (the “Facility”), located at Ulster Landing Road in the Town of

Ulster; and

WHEREAS, use of the Facility shall be made available at no cost to the

County; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Town of

Ulster, allowing the Ulster County Sheriff’s sworn officers to use the Town of Ulster

Firearms Range and Training Facility for the term January 1, 2015 to December 31,

2015, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as

modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
