Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and

WHEREAS, the Director of the Ulster County Department of Probation requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute a contract (NYS Contract C652383), with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) to receive funding in the amount of $73,920.00 for the Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Program (SACPP) grant, for the contract period October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025; and

WHEREAS, the funds will be used exclusively for the Ulster County Probation Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) SACPP program expenses, including but not limited to CVAP staff salaries and fringe, operation of a 24-hour rape crisis hotline, sexual assault prevention, education, training and outreach; now therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute a contract, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State DCJS, in the form as filed with the clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,        

and moves its adoption.
