Referred to: The Laws, Rules and Government Services Committee (Chairman Kovacs and Legislators Gavaris, Hansut, Harmon, Kitchen, Levine, and Uchitelle)
Chairman of the Laws, Rules and Government Services Committee, Jason Kovacs, Deputy Chair Aaron Levine, and Majority Leader Uchitelle offer the following:
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 44 Ethics, of the Code of the County of Ulster, § 44-4, B. (1) states, “The Board of Ethics shall consist of seven members, appointed by the County Executive, one of whom shall be nominated by the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature, one of whom shall be nominated by the Majority Leader of the Ulster County Legislature, one of whom shall be nominated by the Minority Leader of the Ulster County Legislature, three of whom shall be nominated by the County Executive of Ulster County, and one of whom shall be nominated by the Board of Ethics once all other members have been seated…All appointments shall be confirmed by the Legislature...,” and
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the seat for a member nominated by the Majority Leader of the Ulster County Legislature; and
WHEREAS, Majority Leader Uchitelle recommended John DeGasperis for appointment to the Board; and
WHEREAS, the County Executive has reviewed the nomination and has appointed the following individual to the Board of Ethics:

(Term: Present – 8/31/2030); now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby confirms the appointment of the above-named individual to the Ulster County Board of Ethics,
and moves its adoption.
