Referred to: The Public Works and Capital Projects Committee (Chairman Fabiano and Legislators Cahill, Greene, Heppner, and Litts), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairwoman Archer and Legislators Bartels, Gavaris, Haynes, Maio, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and Deputy Chair Manna Jo Greene offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works (Highways & Bridges); and
WHEREAS, the County owns 158 bridges that undergo biannual inspections by New York State Department of Transportation (DOT); and
WHEREAS, the County may receive yellow and red flags on bridges as a result of said inspections; and
WHEREAS, these yellow and red flags may require an immediate response by the Department of Public Works to assure public safety; and
WHEREAS, the project expenditures in the amount of $100,000.00 for Bridge Flag Response, were approved in the 2020 – 2025 Capital Program; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 559 be established and funded so that the Department of Public Works can address these flags in a timely fashion to support public safety; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 559 – Bridge Flag Response is hereby established as follows:
CREATE
Capital Project No. 559 Bridge Flag Response $100,000.00
and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the 2020 Ulster County Capital Fund is hereby amended as follows:
INCREASE AMOUNT
HH.5197.0559.4100.4100 Bridge Materials $100,000.00

and moves its adoption.
