Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS,thisResolutionhasbeensubmitted at the request of theCountyExecutiveon behalf of the Department of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management; and

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Bridge Authority (NYSBA) maintains a video surveillance system in and around its facilities at the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and Mid-Hudson Bridge, the western terminus of both being in Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, access to NYSBA's live video feeds from the Kingston-Rhinecliff and Mid-Hudson bridges will enhance emergency response capabilities for incidents on or around these bridges and the Hudson River; and

 

WHEREAS, the shared video access creates a more coordinated response system between NYSBA and county emergency services, potentially reducing response times and improving safety outcomes during emergencies; and

 

WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding requires no matching County dollars; now, therefore be it; and                    

                             

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Bridge Authority and the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications/Emergency Management for live video feed in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and moves its adoption.
