Ulster County Executive Mike Hein Announces The County’s Warming Center On Clinton Avenue Will Be Open Monday Night (11/27)

Helping Those Who Are Without Shelter In Their Time Of Need

Kingston, NY – Ulster County Executive Mike Hein announces that the County’s warming center will be open due to freezing temperatures, tonight (11/27), located at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church located at 122 Clinton Avenue in Kingston.  The warming center will provide a warm shelter, a hot evening meal and breakfast as well as related services at the Church between 7:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.  Cots and bedding will be provided and there will be separate sleeping areas for men and women.

“No one should find themselves alone outside on the streets to sleep but especially in freezing cold weather,” said County Executive Mike Hein.  “As temperatures fall below freezing, individuals without shelter may find themselves in a life-threatening situation.   The County is fortunate to be able to provide a warming center for the local community during extreme cold weather thanks to our partnership with Reverend Darlene Kelley of the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church.  I urge anyone who does not have shelter, or if you know someone in need of shelter during this time, to get assistance at the warming center or call Family of Woodstock at 845-679-2485.”

Any homeless adult is encouraged to go to the warming center at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church located at 122 Clinton Avenue, Kingston, New York, or if you know someone who is in a desperate situation or is homeless, they can contact the Family of Woodstock hotline which can be reached 24 hours-a-day at 845-679-2485.
