Ulster County Legislature Unanimously Approves Resolution Proclaiming April Parkinson’s Awareness Month
(Kingston, NY) – In Legislative Session on Tuesday the Ulster County Legislature unanimously approved Resolution No. 97, declaring April as Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive disorder which breaks down the nerve cells in the brain, leading to motor impairment as well as cognitive decline. Over 90,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson’s every year, and the disease is the 14th highest leading cause of death in the United States.
