Referred to: The Public Health and Social Services Committee (Chairman Lopez and
Legislators Allen, Belfiglio, Litts, and Provenzano), and The Ways and Means
Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Bartels, Belfiglio, Briggs, Maio,
Maloney, Provenzano, and Rodriguez)
Chairman of the Public Health and Social Services Committee, Craig V. Lopez, and
Deputy Chairman Jeanette Provenzano offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on
behalf of the Department of Social Services; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social
Services requests that the 2015 Ulster County Budget be amended to accept a federal
sub-award, from the New York University School of Medicine in the amount of
$38,734.00; and
WHEREAS, this funding originates from the United States Department of
Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Family, and passes
through the New York University School of Medicine; and
WHEREAS, the funding has been allocated by the New York University
School of Medicine to the Ulster County Department of Social Services as a subaward recipient and collaborator as part of the University’s ATLAS (Applying a
Trauma Lens Across Systems) Project; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used in support of the initiative to make the
New York State child welfare foster care system more responsive to the needs of
children and their families, and thereby improve outcomes at the individual and
systemic level; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the 2015 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as
follows:
