Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Bartels, Belfiglio, Briggs, Maio,

Maloney, Provenzano and Rodriguez)

Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, in the approved 2014 – 2019 Capital Program, $2,158,400.00

was recommended for the purchase of highway equipment for 2014; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 136, dated April 15, 2014, the Ulster

County Legislature approved the Commissioner of Public Works’ request for

$1,321,200.00 for the purchase of highway equipment in 2014; and

WHEREAS, after the review of equipment needs for the County Highways

and Bridges Program, the Commissioner has prepared a supplemental Highway

Equipment List for year 2014 (which includes 4 dump trucks at a cost of $160,000; 2

boom trucks at a cost of $372,000; 1 tractor at a cost of $138,000; 1 tire changing

machine at a cost of $35,000, 1 mechanic truck at a cost of $60,200; 1 bobcat at a

cost of $40,000; and 1 Jeep Grand Cherokee at a cost of $32,000) and requests

approval for the remaining $837,200.00 that had been approved in the current year’s

Capital Program; and

WHEREAS, it is now necessary to increase Capital Project No. 408 –
