“The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Brian J. Woltman was born and raised in the City of Kingston. The son of Tom and Bridie Woltman, Brian grew up on Andrew Street in Midtown. He is proud of his hometown, and loves living and making his home in the community in which he was raised.

Brian is a graduate of Kingston High School, and continues to support his alma mater. He is excited as the high school is entering into a new era with its ongoing renovation. He is also particularly pleased the school will have all the modern features for its students while at the same time preserving its historic presence on Broadway.

Brian and his family are very active in local community organizations. A member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Ulster County and a former Trustee at the Kingston Library, Brian understands the importance of giving back to community.

Legislator Woltman began his career in public service in 1995 as the Purchasing Agent for the City of Kingston. During his tenure, he authored and implemented the City’s procurement policies and procedures. Brian was a founding member of the Empire State Municipal Purchasing Group which has expanded the participation of bidders submitting proposals to the City.

Brian is a supporter of the Local Tourist Railroad as hundreds of children will have lasting happy memories of coming to Kingston and enjoying a voyage on the “Polar Express”. Brian is also committed to supporting a common-sense balancing of the desire to expand the county’s Rail-Trail network with the continuing development of a flourishing Tourist Railroad concession.

Brian is an advocate of Public/Private Partnerships which can create new amenities to be enjoyed by the visitors and citizens of Ulster County at little or no direct cost to the property taxpayers.

Brian is excited to continue to serve the residents of the City of Kingston as their representative in the Ulster County Legislature, representing the 7th District. Brian is looking forward to bringing all of his knowledge and experience to the Legislature and pledges to continue to work for fiscally responsible practices which will protect the property taxpayers of Ulster County.
