Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Probation administers the Crime Victims Assistance Program (“CVAP”), which provides services and aid to all victims and witnesses of crime in Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Probation has requested that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute a contract with the New York State Office of Victim Services to receive funding in the amount of $1,881,015.00 for the period October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2028; and

 

WHEREAS, the funds will be used exclusively to continue and enhance the services offered to victims and witnesses of crime in Ulster County provided by CVAP; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute contract OVS01-C00009GM-1080200, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Office of Victim Services in the amount of $1,881,015.00 for the term October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2028, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney and Legislative Counsel,         

 

and moves its adoption
