Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Probation administers the Crime Victims Assistance Program (“CVAP”) which provides services and aid to all victims and witnesses of crime in Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County Department of Probation, Crime Victim Assistance Program has been awarded $17,358.00 from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (NYS DCJS) to receive Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP) funding for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026; and

 

WHEREAS, the purpose of the NYS DCJS SASP award is to support rape crisis centers that provide core services, direct intervention, and related assistance to victims of sexual assault, regardless of age; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute a contract #T652441, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the Sexual Assault Services Program grant in the amount of $17,358.00 for the term July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney and Legislative Counsel,

 

and moves its adoption
