Chairman of the Laws, Rules and Government Services Committee, Jason Kovacs, and Deputy Chair Aaron Levine offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Board of Elections; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Board of Elections received an Electronic Pollbook Grant in the amount of $155,351.00; and

WHEREAS, the New York State Board of Elections will administer this grant and the term of this grant program will be 04/01/2024 to 03/31/2025; and

WHEREAS, in 2025 the Ulster County Board of Elections will incur additional expenses to purchase 235 replacement electronic pollpads because the current iPad version will no longer be supported by IOS updates in 2025; now, therefore be it  

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign a grant agreement in the amount of $155,351.00 with the NYS Board of Elections to obtain Electronic Pollbook Grant Program funds to offset eligible expenses, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,        

and moves its adoption.
