Referred to: The Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee (Chairwoman Hansut and Legislators Clinton, Hewitt, Maloney, McCollough and Walls), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Collins, Hansut, Kovacs, Nolan, and Roberts)
Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and
WHEREAS, Ulster County Probation Department, STOP-DWI division has been awarded $29,000.00 from the New York State STOP-DWI Foundation to participate in the STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign for the period October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the High Visibility Engagement Campaign is to reduce the incidence of DWI and DWAI in Ulster County; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for Ulster County Probation, STOP-DWI division to enter into certain inter-municipal agreements to participate in the multi-agency High Visibility Engagement Campaigns; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute such inter-municipal agreements, and any amendments thereto, as may be required to carry out the High Visibility Engagement Campaign, as such agreements are filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as are modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
and moves its adoption.
