Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, John Gavaris, and Deputy Chair Kevin A. Roberts offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County had developed a Bank Reconciliation Procedure in accordance with Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Best Practices; and

 

WHEREAS, bank reconciliations are an essential internal control tool and are necessary in preventing and detecting fraud; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the amendment of Local Law No. 10 of 2023, redefining the roles and responsibilities for the completion of bank reconciliations by the Department of Finance, the Department of Finance has amended Exhibit A with the updated positions and responsibilities to complete bank reconciliations; now, therefore, be it,

 

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby adopts the amended Ulster County Bank Reconciliation Procedure in the form as attached and entitled Exhibit A,      

 

and moves its adoption.
