Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, Chair of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Kathy Nolan, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County has been awarded funding through the New York State Department of State as a pass through of a Legislative Member Item in the amount of $40,000.00 for the purpose of funding equipment for the new Government Operations Center; and

 

WHEREAS, the current Department of Emergency Management is insufficient to meet the staffing and data needs of a state-of-the art facility; and

 

WHEREAS, the new Government Operation Center will be equipped with advanced radio equipment and technology; and

 

WHEREAS, the State of New York has appropriated funds in the amount of $40,000.00 for the period of April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement (T1002931), and any amendments thereto, in the amount of $40,000.00 with the New York State Department of State for a Legislative Member Item grant, now therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement (T1002931), and any amendments thereto, in the amount of $40,000.00 for said Legislative Member Item grant with New York State Department of State, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and moves its adoption.
