Chair of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Kathy Nolan, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Mental Health has identified an organization, PeopleUSA, to operate the new Ulster County Crisis Stabilization Center, 368 Broadway in the City of Kingston, NY 12401; and
WHEREAS, PeopleUSA agrees to operate an Intensive Crisis Stabilization Program (the “Program”) on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, PeopleUSA shall, in the course of its operation of the Program, shall provide the full range of Services of an Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center required by law; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has requested the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into a lease agreement with PeopleUSA to lease 6,000 square feet of office space, for a five-year term beginning October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2029; and
WHEREAS, the County of Ulster shall have the option to terminate the lease for any reason or for no reason, upon one-hundred twenty (120) days written notice; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute a lease agreement and any amendments thereto, with PeopleUSA, for a five-year term beginning October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2029, at a cost of $16.50/square foot commencing on January 1, 2026, as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
and moves its adoption.
