Chairman of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Planning; and

 

          WHEREAS, the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation (NYSEF) issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) inviting eligible applicants to apply for funding for the Leading in Lead Prevention Pilot Program; and

 

          WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 96 of March 2024 the Ulster County Legislature authorized the Ulster County Planning Department and Ulster County Department of Health to jointly propose to implement a Septic System Repair and Replacement program recognizing the opportunity to provide funding to improve water quality is selected streams and waterbodies in Ulster County; and

         

          WHEREAS, Ulster County received notice that it was awarded $300,000.00 by NYSEFC to implement a Septic System Replacement Program; and

 

          WHEREAS, in order to accept and appropriate this funding, it is necessary to amend the 2024 Ulster County Budget; now, therefore be it

 

          RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Executive is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation, in the amount of $300,000.00, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

          RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Director of Planning is hereby authorized to act to provide any needed assurances including filing of any certifications necessary for the purposes of implementing this award; and, be it further

 

          RESOLVED, that the 2024 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
