Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Thomas Corcoran, Jr., Deputy Chair Megan Sperry, and Legislator Stewart offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 289 funding Capital Project No. 635 in the amount of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) to create a program to partner with Ulster County municipalities and match up to 50% of park and recreation projects with a maximum contribution of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) per municipality; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 91 decreasing the funding of Capital Project No. 635 in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Six Thousand and Four Hundred Forty Nine Dollars ($156,449.00) for a total project cost of One Million Eight Hundred Forty Three Thousand Five Hundred Fifty One Dollars ($1,843,551.00); and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Town of Ulster (the “Town”) desire to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) where the Town will be a subrecipient of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) of American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF); and

 

WHEREAS, the Town will be responsible under the IMA for administering a program to improve Orlando Street Softball Field Park that will include the purchase and installation of new softball field lighting; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the Inter Municipal Agreement with the Town of Ulster to partially fund improvements to Orlando Street Softball Field Park in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,    

 

and moves its adoption.
