Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County BOCES has requested two full time Deputy Sheriff’s trained as School Resource Officers (SRO) to be assigned to BOCES locations in Port Ewen, Saugerties and Ulster Park; and

 WHEREAS, the County of Ulster, through its Sheriff’s Office will be reimbursed by Ulster County BOCES in the amount of $117,600.78 for the term 7/1/24-12/31/24 and $117,600.79 for the term 1/1/2025-6/30/2025, for a term of one (1) year, not-to-exceed $235,201.57 for the term of the Contract; and

WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025; now, therefore, be it

 RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with Ulster County BOCES to provide two Deputy Sheriffs to serve as School Resource Officers for the term July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,      

and move its adoption.
