Chairman of the Energy, Environment and Sustainability Committee, Chris Hewitt, and Deputy Chair Richard Walls offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Environment; and
WHEREAS, the Ulster County 2024 Adopted Budget contains climate interns in various departments throughout the county; and
WHEREAS, with the creation of the Climate Justice Fellow it is determined these interns should now be budgeted in the same division in the Youth Bureau; and
WHEREAS, the central location of these positions will benefit projects that align with achieving Ulster County’s Climate Agenda; and
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a reimbursement grant through New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for the County Climate Core Intern Program in the maximum amount of $18,743.00 dollars; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the 2024 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
