Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Thomas Corcoran, Jr., Deputy Chair Megan Sperry, and Legislator Harmon offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 289 amending and funding capital project Number 635 in the amount of two million dollars ($2,000,000) to create a program to partner with Ulster County municipalities and match up to 50% of park and recreation projects with a maximum contribution of $100,000 per municipality; and

 

            WHEREAS, the County and the Village of New Paltz (the “Village”) desire to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) where the Village will be a subrecipient of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) of American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF); and

 

WHEREAS, the Village will be responsible under the IMA for administering a program to improve Hasbrouck Park that will include new accessible walkways and renovation of existing outdoor athletic courts; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the Inter Municipal Agreement with the Village of New Paltz to partially fund improvements to Hasbrouck Park in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,     

 

and moves its adoption.
