Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office; and

WHEREAS, there is a balance of $ 311,980.32 in the Corrections Telephone Account Reserve (1856) $408,533.00 in the Contingent Account; and

WHEREAS, funds of $128,870.00 are requested to be transferred into the 2023 Operating Budget to cover expense of repairs to the Officer Dining Room; and

WHEREAS, the Officer Dining Room has not been updated since the building was established and needs repair; and

WHEREAS, the Corrections Telephone Account Reserve is funds collected due to Incarcerated Individuals phone calls and has to be spent for the benefit of the Correctional Facility; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff of Ulster County requests that $128,870.00 be transferred from the Reserve Account into the 2023 Operating Budget; now, therefore be it

WHEREAS, in order complete the repairs necessary on the Officer Dining Room, a budgetary amendment is now required to move funds out of contingency into the Jail department; now, therefore be it

 RESOLVED, that the 2023 Ulster County Budget be amended as follows:
