Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, the approved 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program includes a project “Courthouse Fascia, Exterior Repairs & Roof Replacement” in the amount of $5,450,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the County Courthouse is in need of exterior repairs including new windows, fascia, blue stone stairs, covered entrance and roof work; and

 

WHEREAS, repairs and improvements are required to maintain and preserve the useful life of the historic facility; and

 

WHEREAS, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under Section 2.1 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated April 20, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any further determination or procedure under SEQRA; and

 

WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 595 was established pursuant to Resolution No. 314 dated July 20, 2021, in the amount of $200,000.00, and amended pursuant to Resolution No.118 of 2022 to increase the amount of $65,000.00 for the Design of the Courthouse Fascia, Exterior Repairs & Roof Replacements for a total project cost of $265,000.00; and

 

         

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 595 be amended to increase the funding available for construction services in the amount of $5,850,000.00for a total project cost of $6,115,000.00; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the 2023-2028 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows:

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 595 for the Courthouse Fascia, Exterior Repairs & Roof Replacement be amended as follows:
