Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Gina Hansut offer the following:

 

          WHEREAS,pursuanttoSectionC-120(A)oftheUlsterCountyCharterand SectionA 40-3ofthe Administrative Code: 

 

Traffic Safety Board.

 

A.    ThereshallbeaTrafficSafetyBoardwhichshallexerciseallpowersandduties setforthinArticle43ofVehicleandTrafficLawandheretoforeorhereafter lawfullygrantedorimposedbytheCharter,locallaw,resolutionoftheCounty Legislature, or by applicable lawnot inconsistent with the Charter.

TheTrafficSafetyBoardshallconsistof12personsappointedfortermsof threeyearsbytheCountyExecutive,subjecttotheconfirmationoftheCounty Legislature,exceptthatfourmemberswillbeinitiallyappointedtoatermof oneyearandfourmemberstoatermoftwoyears.Membersshallberesidents ofandqualifiedelectorsintheCounty.Atleastonebutnotmorethanthree membersshallberesident(s)intheCityofKingston.TheTrafficSafetyBoard shallelectannuallyaChairman,ViceChairman,andaSecretaryfromits membersasprovidedinArticle43 ofthe VehicleandTraffic Law.  The Coordinator of Traffic Safety shall serve on the Traffic Safety Board ex officio;” and

 

WHEREAS,theCountyExecutivehasappointedthefollowingindividual to the Traffic Safety Board to fill a vacancy with an unexpired term, to begin immediately and expire 1/31/25:

RESOLVED,thattheUlsterCountyLegislature hereby confirmsthe appointment of theabovelistedindividualas a membertotheTrafficSafetyBoardforthetermas indicated above,
