Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

          WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Transportation defines a bridge as any structure whether single or multiple span construction with a span in excess of 20 feet; and

 

          WHEREAS, bridge substructure is the portion of the bridge that supports the entire structure, such as abutments, piers and wingwalls, and essential to extending the useful life of the bridge; and 

 

WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 585 for Bridge Substructure Repairs was established pursuant to Resolution No. 72 dated February 16, 2021, in the amount of $66,000.00 for design services for the Rosendale Bridge (BIN 3347460) in the Town of Rosendale, Conyes Bridge (BIN 3346910) in the Town of Saugerties and Leggs Mills Bridge (BIN 3347530) in the Town of Saugerties; and

 

WHEREAS, after inspections and further evaluations of costs and bridge life it has been determined that additional bridge elements should be repaired or replaced; and 

 

WHEREAS, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under Section 4.5.5 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated April 20, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any further determination or procedure under SEQRA; and

 

 

          WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 585 be amended to increase the funding available for design services and construction inspection services in the amount of $212,502.00 for a total project cost of $278,502.00; now therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022-2027 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows:
