Referred to: The Economic Development, Planning, Education, Employment, Arts and Agriculture Committee (Chairman Cahill and Legislators Corcoran, Criswell, Hewitt, Litts, Maloney and Sperry), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Cahill, Fabiano, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairman of the Economic Development, Planning, Education, Employment, Arts and Agriculture Committee, Brian B. Cahill, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Planning; and
WHEREAS, Ulster County has been notified of by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets that state revenue in the amount of $50,000.00 is available to assist in development of the Ulster County Agricultural Farmland Protection Plan; and
WHEREAS, the project requires a county match of $50,000.00, for a project total of $1000,000.00; and
WHEREAS, said county contribution has been included in the proposed 2023 Ulster County Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the regard to State Contract Number AGM101-T00309GG-3000000 for the development of an Agricultural Farmland Preservation Plan, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, and Legislative Counsel,
and move its adoption.
