Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 584 was established pursuant to Resolution No. 70 dated February 16, 2021, in the amount of $55,000.00 for the design services of super structure repairs for four county bridges; and

 

          WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 584 was amended pursuant to Resolution No. 463 dated October 19, 2021, in the amount of $619,822.00 for super structure repairs for Sawkill Church Bridge in the Town of Kingston and Powdermill Bridge in the Town of Kingston; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works desires to enter into a contract for the rehabilitation of additional superstructures, the Fish Creek Road Bridge in the Town of Saugerties (BIN 3347750) and Kingston Reservoir Bridge in the Town of Woodstock (BIN 3347820); and

 

WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 584 consists of work that includes, but is not limited to, steel girder repairs, bearing replacements and repairs, concrete repairs, joint installation, steel painting and maintenance and protection of traffic; and

 

WHEREAS, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under Section 4.5.5 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated April 20, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any further determination or procedure under SEQRA; and

 

 

          WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 584 be amended to increase the funding available for construction and construction inspection services in the amount of $744,100.00 for a total project cost of $1,418,922.00; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022-2027 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows:
