Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Gina Hansut offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Probation has requested that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to amend the contract C523961 with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the period July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2023 increasing the amount of the contract to $370,614.00; and

WHEREAS, amending contract C523961 will allow the Department of Probation to accept $61,769.00 for the period July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 to fund the continuation of the Alternative to Incarceration program, allocating $36,714.00 to Pre-Trial Services and $25,055.00 to Work Release/Community Service; now therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the period July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2023 in the amount of $370,614.00, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney in consultation with the Chair of the Legislature and the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee,   

and move its adoption.
