Chair of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this Resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Youth Bureau; and

           

WHEREAS, the Brighter Futures Initiative has grown to support a total of forty at risk youth from its original support of twenty at risk youth, and it is now necessary to convert the current part time Assistant Youth Bureau Coordinator at Ulster BOCES to a full time position at a rate of $28.42 per hour on a full-time basis, at 35 hours per week; The position will provide support weekly and continue to report to the Ulster County Youth Bureau Director; and 

 

WHEREAS, the Assistant Youth Bureau Coordinator position is designed to provide various supports to at risk youth in Ulster County which includes: increasing outcomes for youth in areas of disparities by bridging the necessary supports with the intention of improving high school graduation rates, alternative education, mental health support, internships, secondary education and/or productive employment; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Youth Bureau Budget will be amended to accommodate the Brighter Future Initiative program growth and will include the full-time Assistant Youth Bureau Coordinator position; and

 

WHEREAS, the County of Ulster will be reimbursed for the salary of this position from The Community Foundation as the administrator for the Brighter Futures Initiative and the incumbent position will interact and support family unit of Brighter Future Initiative as well; and

 

            WHEREAS, in order to reflect the reimbursement funding, an amendment of the 2022 budget is necessary; and

 

            WHEREAS, there is no increase in County Contribution as a result of these modifications; now, therefore, be it

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
