Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Peter J. Criswell, and Deputy Chair Thomas Corcoran, Jr. offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 333 on August 17, 2021 creating Capital Project No. 599, entitled “ARP Non-Profit, Youth and Community Programs”; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 333 resolved that funding for Capital Project No. 599 shall be subject to the further approval of the Ulster County Legislature; and

 

WHEREAS, a purpose of Capital Project No. 599 is to make a funding available for not-for-profit organizations in Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience has created a grant program to receive applications from eligible Ulster County non-profit organizations who have faced economic impacts as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant program was created with the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in mind, which can be utilized to assist non-profit organizations impacted by the economic effects of COVID-19; and

 

WHEREAS, the Division of Recovery and Resilience is able to immediately issue a Request for Applications to Ulster non-profits upon initial funding of $1,500,000 to the grant program; now, therefore, be it

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022 Ulster County Capital Fund is hereby amended as follows:
