Chairwoman of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections C-25 (A) of the Ulster County Charter and Section A3-4 (A) of the Administrative Code, the County Executive has the power and duty to appoint department heads; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section C-62(A) of the Ulster County Charter and Section A11-1(A) of the Administrative Code: “There shall be a Department of Social Services under the direction of a Commissioner of Social Services, who shall be appointed by the County Executive, subject to confirmation by the County Legislature;” and

 

          WHEREAS, the County Executive has re-appointed Michael A. Iapoce as Commissioner of Social Services; now, therefore, be it

 

          RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby confirms the re-appointment of Michael A. Iapoce as Commissioner of Social Services for a five-year term as fixed in §116 of New York Social Services Law,

 

and moves its adoption.
