Chair of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Mental Health; and

 

WHEREAS, the NYS Office Mental Health released a request for proposals to solicit projects for the COVID Emergency Relief Funding for the Community Mental Health Block Grant for building a System of Care Infrastructure in the County; and

 

WHEREAS the Ulster County Department of Mental Health, responded to the request for proposals with a project to contract with a community based organization to employ a Family Peer Advocate to lead the system of Care development effort in the County; and

           

WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding, an amendment of the 2022 budget is necessary; and

           

WHEREAS, Ulster County is in receipt of a Notice of Grant Award From (CFDA#93.958) in the amount of $25,000 from New York State Office of Mental Health’s COVID Emergency Relief Funding for the Community Mental Health Block Grant Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Office Mental Health requests the Interim Commissioner of Ulster County Department of Mental Health be authorized to sign the Attestation and Certification of Agreement for Federal Funds; and

 

WHEREAS, there is no increase in County Contribution as a result of these modifications; now, therefore be it

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that Ulster County Legislature hereby authorizes the Interim Commissioner for the Ulster County Department of Mental Health to execute the intermunicipal agreement with required assurances, and any amendments thereto, with the NYS OMH for the purpose of accepting a grant in the amount of $25,000 from the COVID Emergency Relief Funding for the Community Mental Health Services (MHBG) Block Grant Program to build a System of Care Infrastructure in Ulster County; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022 County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
