Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has secured a port security grant in the amount of $25,000.00 from the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA Port Security for the term of September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2024 with a no match cost; and

            WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to reimburse the County budget lines where the expenses are incurred; now, therefore be it

            RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement to accept a Department of Homeland Security, FEMA Port Security Grant; and, be it further

            RESOLVED, that the 2021 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
