Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and Deputy Chair Manna Jo Greene offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has been notified by the New York State Department of Transportation of an increase in CHIPS funding for Ulster County Highway Capital Improvements in the amount of $616,665.75 for the State fiscal year 2021-2022; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has been notified by the New York State Department of Transportation of an increase in PAVE NY funding for Ulster County Highway Capital Improvements in the amount of $342,087.09 for the State fiscal year 2019-2020; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has been notified by the New York State Department of Transportation of an allotment in Emergency Winter Recovery funding for Ulster County Highway Capital Improvements in the amount of $617,995.92 for the State fiscal year 2021-2022; and

WHEREAS, there exists a 2020 CHIPS budget balance of $720,344.54 to be rolled over into the 2021 Budget; and

WHEREAS, there exists a 2020 PAVE NY budget balance of $137,016.84 to be rolled over into the 2021 Budget; and

WHEREAS, there exists a 2020 EWR budget balance of $80,339.47 to be rolled over into the 2021 Budget; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to adjust the Budget to reflect the net difference of the rollover balance and State increase in funding; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests the 2021 CHIPS / PAVE NY / EWR appropriations and revenues be increased by $2,514,449.61 ($937,700.85 rollover plus the $616,665.75, $342,087.09 increases and the $617,995.92 EWR appropriation); now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the 2021 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
