Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, the salary as stated in the 2021 Ulster County Budget for the position Ulster County Jail Assistant Warden (MGT) is $ 76,463.00; and

            WHEREAS, a mid-grade corrections Lieutenant salary including holiday pay and shift differential averages $ 91,619.92 for the 2021 Budget year; and

WHEREAS, an increase to the salary structure is necessary from the rank of corrections Lieutenant to Assistant Warden to allow for changes in staffing and promotions to higher rank; and

WHERERAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office will increase the Ulster County Jail Assistant Warden (MGT) salary to $ 95,962.00 without longevity for the 2021 Budget year; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office will eliminate two part time correction officer positions to cover this adjustment, position numbers 3150-5025 and 3150-5026; and

WHEREAS, the salary for each position is stated in the 2021 Ulster County Budget as $22,235.00; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Assistant Warden (MGT) 2021 annual salary is changed to $ 95,962.00;

RESOLVED, that the 2021 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
