Referred to: The Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee (Chairwoman Walter and Legislators Fabiano, Haynes, Heppner, and Parete), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairwoman Archer and Legislators Bartels, Gavaris, Haynes, Maio, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:
WHEREAS, the Rondout Valley Central School District has requested two Deputy Sheriffs be assigned as a School Resource Officers (SRO) at locations as requested by the District; and
WHEREAS, the Rondout Valley Central School District will pay Ulster County an amount not less than $194,036.40 for the services of the part-time Deputy Sheriff’s assigned as the School Resource Officer’s; and
WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Rondout Valley Central School District to provide two Deputy Sheriffs to serve as a School Resource Officer’s for the term July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney and Chair of the Ulster County Legislature,
and move its adoption.
