Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes, offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of SUNY Ulster; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 50 of 2016 established Capital Project No. 466 SUNY Ulster – Gym Wall Replacement and amended the 2016-2021 Capital Improvement Plan to add and fund such project in the amount of $113,080.00; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 106 of 2019 approved Work Order No. 2019-003 Gym Wall Repair/Replacement with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (“DASNY”) in the amount of $55,000.00 (inclusive of DASNY Fee of $10,000.00) for the purpose of providing design services for the Gym Wall Repair (Replacement) Project; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 210 of 2019 amended Capital Project No. 466 SUNY Ulster – Gym Wall Replacement and approved Work Order No. 2019-004 Gym Wall Repair/Replacement with DASNY in the amount of $350,000.00 (inclusive of DASNY Fee of $65,000.00) for the provision of providing construction management services for the Gym Wall Repair (Replacement) Project; and
WHEREAS, the 2019-2024 Capital Improvement Program includes funding of $10,382,625.00 for Roof Replacement and Exterior Site Work at SUNY Ulster; and
WHEREAS, DASNY’s abatement consultant has identified additional areas around the Senate Gym that need remediation, and has recommended to increase the scope of work to include all affected areas, resulting in an additional $35,000.00 in construction-related costs, resulting in a total project cost of $440,000.00; and
WHEREAS, SUNY Ulster and the County are now formally requesting to increase the scope of work of the construction services for the repair/replacement of the Gym Wall from DASNY; and
WHEREAS, the SUNY Ulster Board of Trustees approved Work Order No. 2019-004A with DASNY (Capital Project: Gym Wall Repair/Replacement) via resolution #19-10-178, dated October 15, 2019; and
WHEREAS, such Work Order totals $35,000.00 (inclusive of DASNY Construction Services Fee of $0.00) for such project, which will be divided as follows: $17,500.00 State and $17,500.00 Ulster County; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby approves amending Capital Project No. 466 SUNY Ulster – Gym Wall Repair (Replacement); and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby approves the Work Order No. 2019-004A Gym Wall Repair/Replacement with DASNY for the provision of providing additional remediation services for the Gym Wall Repair (Replacement) Capital Project; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby amended as follows:
