Chairwoman of the Energy and Environment Committee, Manna Jo Greene, and Deputy Chair Mary Wawro offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Department of the Environment; and

 

            WHEREAS, the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (“NEIWPCC”), in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation - Hudson River Estuary Program, released a request for proposals to solicit projects for restoration of watershed connectivity; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of the Environment, in consultation with the Department of Public Works, responded to the request for proposals with a project to assess culverts, complete culvert management plans and complete conceptual and final design for select culverts, and the Department of the Environment’s proposal was selected to receive grant funding; and

 

            WHEREAS, this project would build on the County’s leadership in the stormwater management and resilience planning, and would allow for strategic support for municipalities to similarly assess culverts and plan for their replacement; and

 

            WHEREAS, this project supports the County’s commitment to furthering actions under Pledge Element 7 Action in the New York State Climate Smart Communities program; and

 

            RESOLVED, that the Chairwoman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and any related amendments with the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission in the amount of $106,590.00 as well as all necessary understandings, assurances, and additional information as may be required, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2019 Adopted Budget be amended as follows:
