Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offer the following:

          WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office; and

          WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff is requesting that $167,151.00 in funds be appropriated from the Jail Phone Commission Reserves to increase appropriations for the Jail Other Equipment line AA.3150.1856-2300.2360; and

          WHEREAS, these funds have been received as proceeds from inmate phone commissions only and do not include any County dollars; and

          WHEREAS, funds for a body scanner will provide a safer environment for officers and inmates by providing a more thorough scan of inmates being incarcerated, many of whom are carrying weapons that are not currently detected by any system; and

          WHEREAS, funds for a new updated Electronic Key Watch system, as required by the State, will replace our current system that is failing and needs replacement; now, therefore be it

          RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
