Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Services; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services has received notification from The New York State Office of Information Technologies (“ITS”) regarding the utilization of the New York State Mass Alert Notification System (“NY-ALERT”); and

 

WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to allow The Ulster County Department of Emergency Services to utilize NY-ALERT when sending emergency and safety related messaging to targeted recipients; and

 

WHEREAS, the Acting County Executive and the Director of Emergency Services requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement and any related amendments with ITS, at no cost to the County; now, therefore, be it  

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and any related amendments with ITS, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, in consultation with Counsel to the County Legislature, Chair of the County Legislature, and the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee,

 

and move its adoption.
