Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Mary Beth

Maio, and Deputy Chair Julius Collins offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Services Division of Fire

Services; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services has received notification

from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services

regarding the 2018-2019 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP)

Grant Program; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to sustain specialized training for

the Ulster County HAZMAT Team; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services requests that the Chairman

of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement, and any

amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and

Emergency Services for the contract period beginning October 1, 2018 and ending

September 30, 2019 in the amount of $5,150.00; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an Agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New

York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for participation

in the 2018-19 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) Grant

Program, in the amount of $5,150.00, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County

Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, Chairman of the

Ulster County Legislature, and the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Law

Enforcement and Public Safety Committee; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the 2018 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as

follows:

INCREASE AMOUNT

AA.3410.1940-4300.4345 Professional Service/Education & Training $5,150.00

AA.3410.1940-3300.3389 SA Other Public Safety $5,150.00

and, be it further

RESOLVED, that if the funding for this program is eliminated, the program

will be eliminated as well,

and move its adoption.
