Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Archer, Bartels, Lopez, Maio, James

Maloney, Joseph Maloney, and Petit)

Chairman Kenneth J. Ronk, Jr. offers the following:

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 247 of July 12, 1990 established fees for the

parking lots at the Ulster County Office Building and the Ulster County Court House;

and

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 326 of December 4, 2003 increased these fees;

and

WHEREAS, in 2009, the County ceased charging a fee to park at the Ulster

County Court House; and

WHEREAS, the fees to park in the lot at the Ulster County Office Building have

not been adjusted since December 4, 2003; and

WHEREAS, the meter fees to park on the streets around the County Office

Building have been increased by the City of Kingston to 25 cents per 15 minutes; and

WHEREAS, since the City has increased its rates, more and more workers and

long term visitors to Uptown Kingston are using the lot at the Ulster County Office

Building which impedes upon those who come to the County Building to conduct

business; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, the fees to park in the parking lot at the Ulster County Office

Building shall be adjusted as follows:

FROM: $ .75/1st hour plus $ .35 for each additional hour to a maximum of $3.00

TO: $1.00/1st hour plus $ .50 for each additional hour to a maximum of $5.00;

and, be it further

RESOLVED, the new fees shall be effective September 4, 2018,

and move its adoption.
