Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Mary Beth

Maio, and Deputy Chair Julius Collins offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications / Emergency

Management; and

 WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency

Management has received notification from the New York State Division of

Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2017-2018 Public Safety

Answering Point (PSAP) Operations Grant; and

 WHEREAS, the County Executive and the Director of Emergency

Communications / Emergency Management requests that the Chairman of the Ulster

County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement, and any amendments

thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency

Services for the contract period from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018, in

the amount of $144,340.00; and

 

 WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to sustain ongoing operations and

improvements of public safety answering points; now, therefore, be it

 RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an Agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New

York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for participation

in the 2017-2018 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Operations Grant, in the

amount of $144,340.00, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as

modified with the approval of the County Attorney, Chairman of the Ulster County

Legislature, and the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Law Enforcement and Public

Safety Committee; and be it further 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2018 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as

follows:

 INCREASE AMOUNT

3020.1800-2300.2500 Other Equipment and Capital Outlays $144,340.00

3020.1800-3300.3389 State Aid Other Public Safety $144,340.00

and be it further

 RESOLVED, that if the funding for this program is eliminated, the program

will be eliminated as well,

and move its adoption.
