Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Richard Gerentine, and Deputy

Chairman Thomas Briggs, offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Clerk; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Clerk’s Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV)

Mobile Unit travels to several towns throughout the County five days a week to offer

Ulster County residents convenient motor vehicle services, including processing of

drivers’ license renewals, processing of learners permits, obtaining non-driver

identifications, processing of registrations – renewals and originals and obtaining

plates for passenger, commercial, trailers and motorcycles; and

WHEREAS, the current Mobile Unit is approximately eighteen years old (18)

and has 188,000 miles and has meet the end of its useful life; and

WHEREAS, in order to maintain this service to Ulster County residents, it is

necessary to now replace such Mobile DMV Unit; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the 2017-2022 Ulster County Capital Improvement

Program is hereby amended as follows:

DMV Unit

$260,000

RESOLVED, that Capital Project 516 – Ulster County Clerk’s Mobile Unit is

hereby established as follows:

 CREATE AMOUNT

 Capital Project 516 Ulster County Clerk’s – Mobile DMV Unit $260,000

and be it further; 

RESOLVED, that the 2017 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby

amended as follows:

 INCREASE AMOUNT

HH.1997.0516.2100.2140 Vehicles $260,000
